TCM & Assisted Reproductive Techniques Brown, Magarelli, See, Horn

There are no easy answers when it comes to the treatment of infertility, but TCM is rapidly gaining acceptance in our Western culture as an allied form of treatment. TCM has been used to treat both female infertility and male sub-fertility conditions in the Orient for the past three to four thousand years. Currently, there are several hundred herbal substances identified and used extensively in infertility treatments along with acupuncture, moxibustion, Qi Gong, dietary and other therapies. In the context of the speaker sequence identified above, this esteemed panel will address: Challenges, Opportunities, & Paradigms for the Treatment of Infertility; Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility (RE&I) Clinicians and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Practitioners: Synergy for Creating Families; Classical Chinese Literature and Scientific Methodology: AAAOM Expo 2008 Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine: Your Passport to Better Health Theoretical and Practical Approaches to Progressive Fertility Research; Why We Should Change the Course of Acupuncture Research. This workshop will illustrate the therapeutic value of TCM as a viable alternative and complementary therapeutic system to conventional infertility treatments and ART.
