| The treatment framework at the Ft. Bliss Restoration
& Resilience Center- William Beaumont Army Medical
Center focuses on an integrative approach that
includes several different modalities and disciplines
to treat the individual as a whole. This integrative
approach treats many of the symptoms of posttraumatic
stress disorder (PTSD) not addressed
through the standard treatment protocol that include
cognitive-behavioral therapy and pharmacotherapy.
The workshop will include discussions on cluster
symptoms of PTSD, PTSD physiological assumptions,
pathophysiology of PTSD, neurobiology of PTSD,
differentiation of syndromes with acupoints, TCM
etiology and pathology, TCM pathogenesis, auriculotherapy
with electroacupuncture, acupuncture treatment
protocols, the treatment framework at the Ft.
Bliss Restoration & Resilience Center, current research
in military acupuncture, and case studies. |
