Empirical Evidence for Afterlife Existence: Transpersonal Perspectives Charles Tart

The idea that consciousness is more than just body and brain activity is taken seriously in transpersonal psychology. Rather than only being a matter of belief, there is considerable empirical evidence bearing on it. This talk will review that evidence and note that while it is strongly indicative of some kind of survival of consciousness from an ordinary perspective, the variations in mind functioning we know of in transpersonal psychology have yet to be applied to this research area. Such application complicates the research question of "Does some aspect of mind survive death?" but adds levels of sophistication necessary for fuller understanding.
