Many CAM interventions are promoted for the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease. Surveys consistently show that many patients do not discuss their use of CAM with their health care providers, and providers often report that they do not feel adequately prepared to discuss these interventions with patients. This session will review the evidence for lifestyle modifications, diet, nutritional supplements and botanicals in the area of cardiovascular disease.
