Aquaponics: Urban Farming Keba Konte, Eric Maundu

Give someone a fish, you give them a meal. Teach someone to raise fish, you give them life. Aquaponics is the integrated farming of plants and fish in a recirculating water system. Using alternative farming methods adopted from projects in Kenya, Konte and Maundu design and install aquaponic systems using local materials for schools, community park gardens and residential homes in the Bay Area. Learn more about aquaponics and how it’s benefiting our communities. Konte is a visual artist, entrepreneur and foodie whose artwork has been exhibited in museums and galleries nationwide. An engineer by profession, Maundu has been working on alternative farming projects in Kenya.
