Activism Burnout: Meditation as Antidote (incomplete) Sister Ellie Finlay

 
Causes and symptoms of burnout will be discussed. The roles of disappointment, stress and attachment to outcome will be examined. Meditation will be presented as an antidote because it alleviates stress and teaches us how to stay in the moment—therefore letting go of attachment to results. The purpose of meditation is the alleviation of suffering and the promotion of happiness. Precise instruction will be given for managing the afflictive emotions on the spot.
