Shaikh Kabir Helminski Preconference Workshop Rumi's "Workshop of Unity" MP3-CDROM

Tawhid (Non-Duality, Oneness), as practiced in the tradition of Rumi, is the awareness that all of existence, at every level of manifestation, is unified, interconnected, and characterized by unstinting beneficence. Rumi was, at one point of his spiritual journey, drunk with this realization. As his state matured he developed it into a comprehensive teaching of Oneness, reflected in stories, sublime poetry and supplications, and even vulgar jokes—all of them illustrating the truth of this Oneness/Tawhid. He calls his masterwork, the Mathnawi, “the workshop of Oneness (non-duality)”: In a shoemaker’s shop, if you find a metal straightedge lying on a table, know for sure that it is for making shoes. Likewise, in the workshop of Unity, know that everything you find here expresses the truth of Oneness. We will explore this Oneness through words and beyond words: sound, presence, and heart awareness.
